Alex & Beth Saks
Alex is the Director of Outreach at Bibles for the World (www.biblesfortheworld.org), headquartered in Colorado Springs. Bibles For The World’s mission is to be “a catalyst for individual and cultural transformation through Christ and the power of God’s Word.” This means sharing the Good News of God’s love in Christ Jesus by ministering to unreached peoples and the Church and Christian leaders in developing nations, with a strong emphasis on India. We do this in partnership with our donors and other ministry partners by (a) strategically distributing Bibles, New Testaments, and other scripture portions; (b) raising up godly, well educated children through our affiliated schools in Northeast India and in Delhi; (c) networking and encouraging Indian churches and national Christian leaders for greater effectiveness; and (d) equipping such leaders through seminars, Trinity College and Seminary in Manipur, and through our networks with other fine evangelical seminaries throughout India.
Since unreached peoples are primarily oral learners (in fact, an estimated 66-80% of the world’s population are oral learners) my primary role at BFTW is to use an oral, inductive Bible study method called Simply the Story (STS, www.simplythestory.org) to teach and train them. To date, I have trained nationals in 16 countries in Central and South America, Asia, and Europe. Our goal is multiplication, not merely addition, which means endeavoring to train nationals to train other nationals so, eventually, we don’t need to return.
