Missions

“And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’”

Pers

Personally

As Christ-followers, we must know the gospel, the Good News of Jesus Christ. We are called to proclaim the good news in word and action as we go in our daily lives. Missions begins when we recognize that God is transformational, we have been changed, and He calls us to point others to His life-changing love and grace. This mission happens in our family as well as among our friends, neighbors, and coworkers.

Bibles For The World’s mission is to be “a catalyst for individual and cultural transformation through Christ and the power of God’s Word.” This means sharing the Good News of God’s love in Christ Jesus by ministering to unreached peoples and the Church and Christian leaders in developing nations. Operation Christmas Child--Samaritan's Purse

Operation Christmas Child Warehouse Volunteering

The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Through this project, Samaritan’s Purse partners with the local church worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations.  We at GCC participate each year by providing shoebox gifts filled with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items, which for many kids, is their first gift ever and gives them a tangible expression of God’s love.

In addition to purchasing items and packing shoeboxes to collect at the church, we at GCC also get to volunteer locally at the Operation Christmas Child Packing center where all the collected boxes from all the churches and individuals in the area are inspected and packed up to be shipped around the world to kids in need.  Contact Elbie Ancona for more information or more ways you might help with this ministry at GCC.

mission trips

As a church, we have taken a number of mission trips over the years. Many of these trips involve supporting and working alongside the missionaries we support. These trips involve giving up some of our time and resources to engage the world for Jesus. We seek to bless and support the church around the world and open our eyes to the needs and to God’s global work.

We have partnered with our friends at Runa Simi just outside of Lima, Peru. These trips have included going into the Andes mountains to minister to the people there. We participated in children’s outreach, youth activities, and providing care in the local communities and churches.

We also partnered with Living Hope Community Center just outside of Cape Town, South Africa. Their ministry is to “seek to reach people for Christ, bringing hope and breaking the despair of poverty and disease.” We collaborated with Living Hope to help the poor and needy through a ministry to the homeless, a ministry to those infected with HIV/aids, a ministry to those in impoverished communities through home-based care assistance, outreach to disciple children and teens, and finally an economic empowerment program.

In addition to these trips, we have traveled to Central America, Asia, and Europe to serve with various ministries. Opportunities have included helping churches and missionaries reach their communities and further God’s Kingdom work in those areas.

We offer trips from time to time with various leaders and purposes.

Information will be provided as future opportunities arise.
