“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue…Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.”–Proverbs 31:25-26, 30
Women. We are fearfully and wonderfully made in His image. We are ingeniously designed with a special purpose. And although not limited to, we are nurturers, organizers, keepers of culture, and even architects of society through our families. God has made us equal with men, but gifted us uniquely for His eternal plan. Learning to balance Biblical womanhood in a modern world can feel like a daunting task. Because of this, GCC Women’s Ministry wants to provide multi-generational opportunities and outlets for women to fellowship, worship, study, pray, and do life together with Jesus as their focus. Here are some ways we can encourage women to get involved at GCC:
- Women’s Bible Studies (see below)
- Love in Action (see below)
- Events + Gatherings
- Volunteering + Investing in younger generations
[NOTE]: We are always hosting and promoting various women’s events and gatherings. Keep an eye open for announcements or take a peek at our online GCC calendar of events.
GCC Women’s Ministry desires to not only connect women with one another, but to also make sure we have a firm foundation in His Word. We offer various studies throughout the year. It is our hope that you are able to find one that fits your spiritual needs and schedule. Classes are held Tuesday mornings and Wednesday evenings. Childcare (newborn to Pre-K) is available for anyone attending a study. Please be sure to RSVP for childcare within your online registration. TUESDAYS 9:45-11:45am and/or WEDNESDAYS 6:30pm-8:00pm [REGISTER FOR BIBLE STUDY WITH INDIVIDUAL LINKS BELOW]

Young Moms – The Best Yes by Lysa TerKeurst
Led by Anne Pillsbury and Deborah McLendon
Do you find yourself spending a lot of time figuring out when to say yes and when to say no, thinking about how to manage your time, reduce stress, do your best for your family, find a little time for yourself? Lysa TerKeurst found herself in that same situation until she learned the power of “the best yes”, the choice that shapes all of our other choices.
In this six-session study Lysa uses her signature mix of transparency, Scripture-laced insight, and “been there” humor to suggest usable strategies for making wise decisions day by day.
- Cure the disease to please with a biblical understanding of the command to love.
- Escape the guilt of disappointing others by learning the secret of the small no.
- Overcome the agony of hard choices by embracing a wisdom based decision-making process.
- Rise above the rush of endless demands and discover your best yes today.
Meets in Café 316 Tuesdays 9:45-11:45am
Precept Upon Precept Inductive Studies: Judges — Driving Out Your Enemies, 7-week study
Led by Ruth McKennon & Marilyn Yaksh
Nothing has changed from the days of the Judges – people still do what is right in their own eyes. Absolutes are shoved aside and the result is bondage to sin. Only God’s truths and moral principles bring peace and freedom from bondage. Judges is a book seldom studied or taught, yet it couldn’t be more pertinent for our times. It’s a book that demonstrates the darkness and bondage that falls on the nation or individual who turns from the Word of God and lives according to their perceptions of God by simply doing what is right in their own eyes.
Meets in B215 Tuesdays 9:45-11:45am
Workbook PUP $15.75 In and Out $12.25 (NASB or ESV)
Entrusted, video taught by Beth Moore, a 6-session study of 2 Timothy
Led by Terry Ruiz & Diane Wilson
** this study will be beginning on January 14, a week later than the other Tuesday morning studies
We were never meant to take this journey of faith alone or in secret. God has entrusted us with the great and mighty gift of the gospel, something too precious and life-giving to keep to ourselves.
In this 6-session Bible study, Beth will encourage you to guard what God has entrusted to you, further His kingdom by sharing Christ with others, and pour into future generations just as Paul once mentored Timothy. Because in this journey of joy and hardship, we need each other to stay the course and live lives of faithfulness.
Meets in D101 Tuesdays 9:45-11:45am
WEDNESDAY EVENINGS 6:30 – 8:15 PM (Childcare Newborn to Pre-K available by online registration)
It’s Not Supposed to Be This Way by Lysa TerKeurst, a 12-week study
Led by Lisa Layton
It’s Not Supposed to Be This Way offers a safe guide, fresh biblical insight, and life-giving perspectives for living in between Eden and eternity. With grit, vulnerability, and honest humor, Lysa helps readers:
- Stop being pulled into the anxiety of disappointment by discovering how to better process unmet expectations and other painful situations.
- Train themselves to recognize the three strategies of the enemy so they can stand strong and persevere through unsettling relationships and uncertain outcomes.
- Discover the secret of being steadfast and not panicking when God actually does give them more than they can handle.
- Shift their suspicion that God is cruel or reckless to the biblical assurance that God is protecting and preparing them.
- Know how to encourage a friend and help them navigate hard realities with real help from God’s truth.
Meets in E101 Wednesdays 6:30-8:15pm
Seeing Jesus in the Old Testament The Lamb of God, video taught by Nancy Gutherie, a 12-week study
Led by Kristina Friberg, Linda Robinson, & Jeannine Gaiek
This study of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy covers Israel’s emergence from slavery in Egypt, receiving God’s law at Mount Sinai, and wandering in the wilderness on their way to the Promised Land. We see Jesus pictured in the unblemished lambs who died that first Passover night, in the pillar of fire that guided God’s people, the manna that fed them, and the rock that gushed with water for them to drink. In the law of God given to Moses, we discover a picture of the only person who has ever obeyed God perfectly. In every aspect of the tabernacle, the priesthood, the laws for clean and unclean we see the way Jesus saves us and cleanses us and loves us.
Meets in D101 Wednesdays 6:30-8:15pm
LOVE in ACTION – “You should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”–1 Peter 4:10
Love in Action is an extension of Women’s Ministry and was lovingly birthed to fill the needs of our church family when in life-stage transitions and recovering from illness. It is essentially a meals/transportation ministry for those in need. Whether your family has just had a baby, is healing from medical treatment, or in need of transportation for things such as medical appointments, it is the desire of Love in Action’s volunteers to serve you and shower you with love.
