Women’s Ministry

GCC women’s ministry exists to promote the spiritual and emotional health of the women of Gwinnett Community Church.

Our desire is to provide a welcoming environment for women to fellowship, worship, study, pray and do life together with Jesus as the focus.

Exalt, Encourage, Engage

God’s word says to encourage one another in love and good deeds, not abandoning our own meeting together, as is the habit of some people, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.

- Hebrews 10:25

Multi-generational opportunities and outlets for women include:

Bible Studies

Biblical & practical application of God’s Word. These studies are designed to engage women who are new to the Word as well as those who desire in-depth study.

Jesus & Women in the First Century and Now, A 7-session study by Kristi McLelland

Imagine walking the dusty roads of Galilee with Jesus of Nazareth—braving jostling crowds just to touch the edge of His cloak and hear Him say, “Take heart, daughter, your faith has healed you.”

Those words, once meant to comfort a hurting woman’s soul thousands of years ago, were also meant for you.

Join biblical culturalist Kristi McLelland on those dusty roads as she transports you back to Jesus’ world, following in the footsteps of the women who came face-to-face with the Living God. Examine the historical and cultural climate of first-century Middle Eastern society to not only understand Jesus more deeply but to fuel your worship of Him today.

* This study will not meet Jan 25, Feb 8, Mar 8, Mar 22

Daniel Part 2 - Gaining Understanding of the Time of the End, 10 week study

Does the turmoil in our times, the uprisings and the spiritual decay of many have anything to do with the Book of Daniel? Daniel was a man who knew what God said about the end times. He focused on what God said, not the events of his own time. He had an impact on the people that God placed in his life.

How do you live as a Daniel in the crucial days in which you find yourself? How can you dare to be different? How do you get to know God Most High? The Book of Daniel has the answers.

Please select either PUP (Precept Upon Precept) or In & Out workbook and indicate if you want the NASB or ESV.

* This study will NOT meet Jan 25, Mar 22, or Apr 5.

NASB or ESV Precept Upon Precept Workbook (5 hours of homework per week)**:  $23.00

All Things New - A Study on 2 Corinthians   (This 8 week study began last semester, there are 4 sessions remaining - come and join us)

The city of ancient Corinth was much like our own modern-day cities. In other words, it was a melting pot of electrifying cultural experiences, along with the myriad pitfalls of spiritual depravity. Still, Paul wrote to the church of God in Corinth. Through Paul’s letter we see that God’s church is meant to thrive in any city and every circumstance, and therefore is as timely as ever.

In Kelly’s All Things New Bible Study, she will lead you through the Letter of 2 Corinthians over 8 sessions. You will explore the anchoring truths of bearing treasures in jars of clay. You’ll learn how to meet Christ through a pressing thorn and how to open your heart in the midst of hurtful relationships. You will see what it means to embrace the lost and lonely as ministers of the new covenant. Each of us has a message to proclaim and live by. Because of Jesus the old has gone, the new has come.

* This study will NOT meet Jan 25, Mar 22, or Apr 5

Workbook: $16.00

Truthfilled – The Practice of Preaching to Yourself Through Every Season, (a study in Colossians) Ruth Chou Simons

  • Meeting in E101
  • Wednesdays 6:30-8:15pm, begins January 12 thru March 16*
  • Led by Lisa Layton

Truthfilled - The Practice of Preaching to Yourself Through Every Season, 7 sessions

Many of us want God’s Word to dwell richly in us, but life can get in the way.

We’d never intentionally write chapters of confusion, failure, loss, pain, conflict, or suffering into our stories. No one plans to wrestle with her identity in Christ, to struggle to love her husband, to feel lonely in ministry, or to feel helpless in motherhood. Yet we often find ourselves in these seasons, struggling to embrace the gospel hope we need to fill our discouraged souls.

Join Ruth Chou Simons in this 7-session, video-based study of the Book of Colossians as she leads us through a practice of preaching gospel truth to ourselves by studying Paul’s example. In every changing season of life, we can rest in God’s character, rehearse our identity in Christ, respond in faith, and remember God’s provision for us. In today’s culture, there’s no shortage of self help, easy fixes, and worldly advice, but only the truth of God’s Word was meant to fill you up and satisfy you fully.

This will be a no-homework Bible Study
