“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue…Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.”–Proverbs 31:25-26, 30

Women. We are fearfully and wonderfully made in His image. We are ingeniously designed with a special purpose. And although not limited to, we are nurturers, organizers, keepers of culture, and even architects of society through our families. God has made us equal with men, but gifted us uniquely for His eternal plan. Learning to balance Biblical womanhood in a modern world can feel like a daunting task. Because of this, GCC Women’s Ministry wants to provide multi-generational opportunities and outlets for women to fellowship, worship, study, pray, and do life together with Jesus as their focus. Here are some ways we can encourage women to get involved at GCC:

  • Women’s Bible Studies (see below)
  • Mentorship
  • Love in Action (see below)
  • Events + Gatherings
  • Volunteering + Investing in younger generations
  • Missions

[NOTE]: We are always hosting and promoting various women’s events and gatherings. Keep an eye open for announcements or take a peek at our online GCC calendar of events.

GCC Women’s Ministry desires to not only connect women with one another, but to also make sure we have a firm foundation in His Word. We offer various studies throughout the year. It is our hope that you are able to find one that fits your spiritual needs and schedule. Classes are held Tuesday mornings and Wednesday evenings.  Childcare (newborn to Pre-K) is available for anyone attending a study. Please be sure to RSVP for childcare within your online registration. TUESDAY MORNINGS and/or WEDNESDAYS EVENINGS  [REGISTER FOR BIBLE STUDY WITH INDIVIDUAL LINKS BELOW]

Young MomsEssentials of Parenting:  Raising Kids with a Faith that Lasts

  • Tuesdays 9:45am, begins January 12 (7 weeks, end date 3/9, does not meet 1/26 or 3/2)

What will your child’s faith look like 20 years from now―firm, fragile, or forgotten?  An alarming number of kids―even those who’ve spent years in church―abandon Christianity when they reach young adulthood.  Often, it’s because the foundations of their faith are weak.  Fortunately, the Creator of children has provided loving teachers and role models to help build those foundations.  They’re called parents!  In Essentials of Parenting™: Raising Kids with a Faith that Lasts, you’ll discover how to use family fun, everyday conversations, and meaningful milestone markers to launch your child’s relationship with God.  It starts with a lively DVD presentation from some of today’s top experts―Dr. Tim Kimmel, Rev. Mark Holmen, and Larry Fowler.

Participants guide:  $8.00

Walking By Faith by Jennifer Rothschild

  • Meeting in Building A Upstairs On Campus with Social Distancing
  • Tuesdays 9:45am, begins January 12 (7 weeks, end date 3/9, does not meet 1/26 or 3/2)
  • Led by Diane Wilson
  • Childcare available by registration

Jennifer Rothschild knows not everyone sees 20/20.  Although Jennifer is physically blind, God has taught her to see that living a life based on faith rather than sight requires us to look at our situations through a lens that filters out what is seen and, instead, focuses on what is unseen — those things that are eternal.

Walking by Faith: Lessons Learned in the Dark contrasts the evidences of walking by faith and walking by sight and encourages participants to take risks, give God control, persevere through hardship, receive God’s gifts, be guided by the Truth rather than feelings, and seek God.

Workbook:  $12.00

The Best Yes by Lysa TerKeurst

  • Meeting via Zoom – subject to change
  • Wednesdays 7pm, begins January 13 (12 weeks, end date 3/24)
  • Led by Lisa Layton

Do you find yourself spending a lot of time figuring out when to say yes and when to say no, thinking about how to manage your time, reduce stress, do your best for your family, find a little time for yourself?  Lysa TerKeurst found herself in that same situation until she learned the power of “the best yes”, the choice that shapes all of our other choices.

In this study Lysa uses her signature mix of transparency, Scripture-laced insight, and “been there” humor to suggest usable strategies for making wise decisions day by day.

  • Cure the disease to please with a biblical understanding of the command to love.
  • Escape the guilt of disappointing others by learning the secret of the small no.
  • Overcome the agony of hard choices by embracing a wisdom based decision-making process.
  • Rise above the rush of endless demand.

LOVE in ACTION – “You should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”–1 Peter  4:10

Love in Action is an extension of Women’s Ministry and was lovingly birthed to fill the needs of our church family when in life-stage transitions and recovering from illness. It is essentially a meals/transportation ministry for those in need. Whether your family has just had a baby, is healing from medical treatment, or in need of transportation for things such as medical appointments, it is the desire of Love in Action’s volunteers to serve you and shower you with love.
